Typecast

Youth In Revolt, another typical micheal cera movie where he wakes up in morning after NOT getting laid, goes through day after day NOT getting laid and the movie ends with him NOT getting laid.

as bad as being typecasted is, there can still be some variation if you happen to be an action hero. you can play a vietnam war vet who kills without prejudice, renegade cop who yells obscenities has he kills all the badies single handedly, a half-man half scorpion creature. heck you even get to play the tooth fairy ! now thats variety.

no such luck for cera. his movie career seems to be a running of groundhog day, except that he is no bill murray. poor bastard.

yes, the last few weeks have been pretty slow.

thats like saying why does

-Bruce Willis star as a cop
-Zoeey Deschanel as herself(a quirky free -spirited girl)
-Samuel Jackson as a motherfucker
-Will Smith as himself (loveable good guy)
-Seth Rogen as himself (nerdy fat mildly funny guy)
-Jack Nicolson as a crazy guy

Some people stick to playing a particular role, either because they are good at it or that's who they are

True, but with those other characters/actors there are still variations you get to see. For example:
Bruce Willis will either shoot up, blow you up, toss you over a high-rise or launch a taxi at your helicopter.

Sam Jackson will be a motherfucker by either yelling at you, a shark, snakes or (as in his upcoming conquest) at his romantic counterpart.

Will Smith will be a loveable guy who kills aliens, who kills robots, who is the last man on earth or who infact is an alien himself.

Jack Nicolson will be a crazy father possessed by a ghost, a crazy warewolf or even a crazy mob boss.

Micheal Cera, on the other hand, is always the sex-starved, goofy, loner high school kid.
